During a time of worship, I began to see a beautiful waterfall with the water flowing rapidly into a stream below. The water began to hit a rock and cause a blockage in the water flowing downward. As I began praying and asking the Lord what he was showing me, I began to sense the blockages that held many people captive in the body of Christ. The story of Moses and the rock came to my memory. Let me share the story with you.
The Israelites had left Egypt and were moving toward the promised land, but they began to get thirsty and they were looking for water. God gave Moses instructions to SPEAK to the Rock, but he STRUCK the Rock. God in his mercy provided the water that would satisfy their thirst. But he instructed Moses to SPEAK, not STRIKE the rock. Therefore, he was not able to enter the promised land due to his disobedience. Numbers 20:11 New Living Translation Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with the staff, and water gushed out. So the entire community and their livestock drank their fill. You see, Jesus is the Living water, if any person comes to him, they will never thirst again. In the story of the woman at the well, she was thirsty in the natural, but Jesus met her and knew she needed a deeper type of thirst which was spiritual. Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." ... but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." John 4 So you see, ultimately we must speak to the “rocks” in our life that weigh us down, or block us to be removed. Jesus has given you, the believer the authority to speak to the things that block you to be removed in Jesus name. Take up your sword, which is the Word of God and speak to those things that are blocking you and believe that are moved. Call those things forth and believe as though they are! He has called you to walk in freedom and have the path clear! “I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall.” Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Prayer: Father God, thank you for loving me and giving me direction. For you are the path to life, so right now I speak to those blockages, hinderances in my life to be removed in Jesus name and I ask that the rivers of living water be stirred up in my belly to flow freely once again in Jesus mighty name! Amen
